Safeware, Inc. Joins ASPP PRO Community of Experts to Advance Prevention-First Safety for Schools, Workplaces, and Public Spaces
Lanham, MD – February 5, 2026
Safeware, Inc., a trusted provider of safety, security, and emergency response solutions, today announced a new strategic partnership with Active Shooter Prevention Project (ASPP), LLC. As part of the partnership, Safeware has joined the ASPP PRO Community of Experts, an alliance focused on helping organizations build practical, prevention-first strategies to reduce risk before violence begins.
Safeware and ASPP founder Chris Grollnek have collaborated for the past three years, including multiple seminars and product demonstrations hosted for Safeware customers and community stakeholders. Most recently at Columbia College in South Carolina.
ASPP is known for its P.R.O. Model™ – Prevention. Response. Options. – a framework designed to move organizations beyond “what to do in the moment” and into measurable readiness that emphasizes early awareness, trusted reporting pathways, and leadership accountability.
“Preparation matters, but prevention is the goal,” said Jason Stallings, Director of Marketing at Safeware, who will serve as Safeware’s primary contact for ASPP PRO consortium efforts. “Most organizations don’t need more fear, they need a clear path forward. This partnership helps deliver real-world guidance and practical options that leaders can put into motion to strengthen readiness, improve coordination, and reduce risk.”
ASPP is widely recognized for its prevention-centered approach, emphasizing early identification of warning signs, strong reporting culture, and leadership-driven planning that turns good intentions into consistent action. Through the ASPP PRO model and its Community of Experts, organizations can evaluate vulnerabilities, improve procedures, and create layered safeguards tailored to their unique environments and operational realities.
“Violence is not inevitable,” said Chris Grollnek, Chairman and Founder of the Active Shooter Prevention Project. “Organizations can reduce risk when they stop treating safety as a one-time training event and start building a durable prevention system. Safeware brings deep experience and a strong commitment to helping customers take meaningful steps that protect people and strengthen communities.”
The partnership also reflects Safeware’s continued support for the ASPP National Standard Framework, which has been recognized and validated by the Department of Justice for a second time continuing through 2027. Thus, underscoring the importance of prevention-focused, standardized methods for addressing evolving threats.
As Safeware joins the ASPP PRO Community of Experts, the organizations, along with numerous safety and security equipment manufacturers, will collaborate to help decision-makers take prevention from concept to execution, through education, assessment support, and solutions that reinforce safer environments without relying on fear-based messaging.
