Description
The Indian Springs Kit “A” (Device 1) is the only US DOT approved capping kit that can be applied to a leaking chlorine cylinder and shipped over the road legally*. FOR LOW PRESSURE CYLINDERS ONLY < 150 PSI. The Indian Springs Kit “A” is manufactured to the design specifications of the Chlorine Institute. The Indian Springs Kit “A” contains devices to stop leaks at the valve, fusible plug, and in the side walls of chlorine 100 & 150 lb. cylinders which conform to specification DOT 3A480. Two instruction booklets explaining the application of each device are included.
Emergency Kit "A" Features
- Device #1: designed to contain leaks in and around the cylinder valve.
- Device #2: a clamping device to seal leaks in and around the cylinder valve fusible plug.
- Device #8: a patching device designed for sealing leaks in the cylinder side wall.
- Kit A also includes a variety of hand tools, inspection seals and additional sealing devices.
- All items are labeled with a part number, color coded red and stored inside a durable polyethylene tool box.
- The Chlorine Institute Recovery Vessel can also be used to encapsulate a leaking cylinder and shipped.
