Day 1 Course Description

This interactive 8-hour module will prepare hazardous materials technicians and specialists to employ and integrate multiple HazMat/CBRN software applications and wireless tools, including the Chemical Emergency Response E-Service (CERES), to plot recommended emergency response distances on an incident map, share hazard information, and assist in making risk-based response decisions.
Host agencies will receive an annual HazMat team access for the Chemical Emergency Response E-Service (CERES), local mapping/GIS data set-up at no charge. Limit: 15 students. Each student is provided with a Hazard3 laptop for use in class. Host agency must provide wifi-internet access.

Day 2 Course Description

This 8-hour training module will build on the knowledge and skills included in the HAZMIST day 1 course to prepare hazardous materials technicians to utilize wireless technology including the Chemical Emergency Response E-Service (CERES) to perform wireless air monitoring, sensor driven plume models, Tier II hazardous chemical inventory integration, integrate on-site wireless weather stations, and preparing for local HazMat target hazards.
Host agencies will receive a CERES air monitoring integration upgraded access for up to 10 existing Rae/Honeywell or Blackline detectors and Tier II database import into CERES at no charge.
